What majors and fields of study are available for international students?
A.Please check the “Application Guidelines” from the following URL.
・For students who are enrolled in an educational institution in Japan at the time of application (regardless of where they live)

・For students who are living overseas at the time of application and are not enrolled in an educational institution in Japan

Are there any scholarships for international students that I can apply for to support my study at JFOU?
A.Yes, but please review the scholarship requirements which can be found in the student application guidelines. You must select “Scholarship Student Selection” when you first apply online. No changes can be made after the application is completed.

Do you offer any courses in English?
A.Yes, there are some courses taught in English in the College of Global Communications, as well as a few courses in the College of Business Management (as of 2021 September). Other courses are taught in Japanese so students are expected to have sufficient academic Japanese language skills to handle these classes.

If I have both Japanese and foreign nationality (dual nationality), how should I enter the information when applying online?
A.Please enter the information about your nationality and status of residence that you plan to hold at the time of enrollment.

Do I need to have proof of my Japanese language ability when I apply?
A.Apart from a few cases, yes, proof is required. Application requirements differ for each College and selection process, so please check the student application guideline for details.

Q.
I have taken a language exam such as the JLPT, but my score has not yet been released. I am not able to submit a certificate of my language score at the time of application, but may I submit it as an additional document as soon as I receive a certificate of my score?
A.If the results are not available during the application period, you will not be able to apply using the scores from that exam. If you have received your results but have not yet received your certificate, please contact the Information Center.

Is it possible to wire the application fee from overseas?
A.No, the application fee cannot be wired from overseas. For the selection for students who reside overseas at the time of application, the application fee can only be paid by credit card.

Is it possible to remit the entrance fee and school fees after I am accepted?
A.Yes, for details, please contact the Information Center after you have been accepted.

Is it possible to withdraw from the entering JFOU after I have completed the enrollment procedures?
A.Yes, it is possible. However, you must do so by the designated date. For details, please refer to the application guideline.

Q.
I am thinking of applying to other universities at the same time. If decide to withdraw from the entering J. F. Oberlin University after completing the enrollment procedures because I want to attend another university, is it possible to return the admission fee, tuition, etc. that I paid to J. F. Oberlin University?
A.Yes, it is possible. However, it is necessary to complete the necessary procedures by the designated date. Once the procedure is completed, the amount of tuition minus the transfer fee for the refund will be returned. The admission fee is non-refundable for any reason.
